What is tour guiding?

  • leads group and individual around sites, parks, indoor outdoor destinations, etc.
  • gives insights on the new place, historical backgrounds and legitimate information

Mt. Karilongan overview:

  • is part of the Koontayan ‘to Obu Manuvu Eco Adventure Park by the Obu Manuvu Tribe of Carmen
  • located 1,103 meters above sea level and has approximately 1,083 no sikaa (steps) to the top (approx. 4kms from the highway)
  • the peak has a breathtaking view of Mt. Talomo 
  • the Bol’lad tu Manama (“Hand of God” in Bagobo) can be found in the peak
  • the community prepares food like native coffee, steamed kamote, chicken cooked in bamboo “nilotlot” and etc.

Tour guide requirements:

  • willing to learn the background and history of the Obu-Manuvu Eco-cultural park 
  • able to speak loud, clear and a good listener to the visitors
  • a good leader and handles situations calmly

What to prepare: 

  • the tour guide should be physically fit and willing 
  • will be taught the information and details of the trail
  • should familiarize the trail and its different scenery
  • shall know the importance of the species present along the trail
  • have field attires and equipments

Schedule: 

  • tour guiding schedule is exclusive on Saturdays and Sundays only from June-September 2023
  • time will depend on the guest visiting time 

Details:

  • free food and transportation
  • guide fee tip is possible
