Geotagging of Trees

What is Geotagging?

  • the process of assigning geographical location of the tree
  • easily tracks the growth and mortality of the seedlings planted
  • uses mobile phone for obtaining coordinates

What to wear and bring:

  • field attire is encouraged
  • leggings/ trek pants
  • dry bag with sunblock, water bottle
  • rubber shoes, boots, cap, hat
  • raincoat or umbrella
  • extra clothes and attire

Schedule:

  • geotagging in the field will be 3days a week (Wed-Fri)
  • June and July will be the geotagging months

Details: 

  • field guides will be present
  • mobile phones will be provided by the organization
  • volunteers will be accompanied with an EGIPF staff
  • volunteers will learn how to identify seedlings and trees
  • certificate will be given after the event
