Environmental degradation and global climate change are serious threats to everyone. “They are having a disproportionate impact on those who are most vulnerable, those to whom Rotary has the greatest responsibility. Yet environmental issues rarely register on the Rotary agenda.” Incoming RI President Ian H. Risely.
The RI president-elect challenged every Rotary club to make a difference by planting a tree for each of its members between the start of the Rotary year on 1 July and Earth Day on 22 April 2018. RIPE Ian Risely says, “I believe the greater result will be a Rotary that recognizes our responsibility not only to the people on our planet, but to the planet itself.”
The act of selecting, planting and caring for a tree sends a powerful message that we, Rotarians care about the environment. These acts are also excellent ways to bring people together--- Rotarians, potential Rotarians, Rotary partners in service, the youth and our adopted communities and focus on environmental issues.
Tree planting is a great event for companies and organizations; it is also a good activity for families. District 3830 will conduct a tree planting activity in Cabading Eco Park in the Marikina Watershed located in Antipolo City on July 30, 2017 (last Sunday of July). Each club will be allocated 100 seedlings at a cost of Php 50 per piece.
We are also soliciting Corporate Sponsors for this service project and we have prepared a sponsor Benefit Package that will include Digital marketing through Cable TV providers like Sky, Destiny and other Provincial cable Companies.
