Donation Program
We all know the importance of reading in a student’s success. Research shows that children who don't learn to read by the end of third grade are likely to remain poor readers for the rest of their lives, and they're likely to fall behind in other academic areas, too. People who struggle with reading are more likely to drop out of high school and live in poverty.
Learning to read even became harder when the pandemic hit in 2020. The effects can be observed when students return to school and are still struggling to read. To adapt to these changes, BINHI introduced the BINHI Buddy Project - a one-on-one personalized tutoring method of learning where BINHI Scholars will be coached by a volunteer to help them overcome reading challenges.
The tutoring sessions will be conducted online and thus a gadget is necessary. Unfortunately, some of our BINHI Scholars are unable to attend weekly review classes due to a lack of gadgets.
We would be needing your help so we can give our students a chance to learn how to read by donating. The amount to be collected would also be used to buy gadgets for the students. If you wish to donate your own unused gadget instead of cash, contact us so we can send you our details.
*Unused gadgets can be any old or extra but working smartphones, tablets, laptops, computers, chargers, etc.
