While hospital playrooms are still closed and the Kythe staff continue to work from home, they strive to remain connected with the children and their families throughout this pandemic.
They continue to provide pediatric patients with opportunities to learn, play and grow through Tele-Child Life sessions. Kythe volunteers play games, tell stories, do arts and crafts, have conversations with children and teens through various online platforms.
These virtual one-on-one and group meets with children, teens and parents are ways of ensuring that continued support is available. We may be physically distant, yet we strive to remain socially and emotionally connected.
Help sustain these connections by providing for the internet connectivity that makes Kythe’s virtual interactions possible. Through the share a load campaign, parents, teens and children and Kythe team can maintain valued virtual connections.
Kythe is a non-profit, non-stock organization aimed towards improving the quality of life among hospitalized children with cancer and other chronic illnesses.
They are a group of trained professionals providing the Child Life Program. As the only foundation in the Philippines offering the Kythe Child Life Program, they have provided psychosocial support to over 11,000 children with cancer and other chronic illnesses and their families since 1992.
