Support our English Literacy Program. We want to see our scholar's growth and we need volunteer testers to help us.

About the Project

Founded in 2008, Binhi English Literacy Foundation Inc. (BINHI) aims to improve English reading skills to identified non- and frustrated readers aged between 5-8 years old in public elementary schools and community centers.

The program runs for 20 weeks. Pupils are tested three times during the program period: pre-test, mid-test, and post-test. We are almost done with our program, and thus, we are preparing for the post-test. Tester volunteers will help in the conduct of one-on-one test with Kindergarten to Grade 1 pupils aged 5-7 from their chosen schedule from March 3 to 13. Each test is expected to last around 10-15 minutes.

To ensure volunteers are well-prepared, a virtual self-paced training module will be available from February 22 to 28. This will be followed by a Regrouping Session on March 1, 2025 (Saturday) at 1:00 PM via Zoom.

Qualifications and Requirements

Before becoming a BINHI Tester, one must pass the following criteria:

• an advocate of literacy and independent learning with keen observation skills
• can listen and pay attention to important details
• willing to attend a virtual orientation prior the schedule on April 13, 2024 (Saturday) | 1:00 PM
• willing to commit at least 2 hours of his/her time based on your chosen schedule/s from April 22 to May 2
• willing to travel in any of the following areas: Calamba City, Manila City, Parañaque City, Pasay City, Pasig City, Quezon City

Timeline of Activities

• February 22, 2025 (Saturday) | 1:00 PM – Release of BINHI Volunteer Tester Materials via Google Sites
• February 22–28, 2025 – Self-paced Learning for BINHI Volunteer Testers (Asynchronous via Google Sites)
• March 1, 2025 (Saturday) | 1:00 PM – BINHI Volunteer Testers Regrouping Session (Synchronous via Zoom)

Expect to receive an email at least 3 days before the orientation and the testing date with the rest of the details (general reminders, things to bring, directions, etc.)
