Background
Sign Language Interpreters of Davao Region (SLIDAR) aims to provide quality FSL (Filipino Sign Language) interpretation services that facilitate effective communication between the Deaf community and the hearing population. Our goal is to develop a pool of competent and certified FSL interpreters in Davao Region.
Event Details
This workshop, brought to you by the Sign Language Interpreters of the Davao Region (SLIDaR), is part of our ongoing mission to promote Filipino Sign Language (FSL). SLIDaR is dedicated to bridging the communication gap between Deaf and hearing communities. By joining us, you'll gain valuable insights into Deaf culture and rights, while also learning FSL.
This event is proudly aligned with Buwan ng Wika 2024, as we celebrate and promote FSL as the national sign language for the Deaf.
Location: Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish (Redemptorist Church) – Conference Room, J.P. Laurel Ave., Bajada, Davao City
We’re looking for:
- 5 Logistics Volunteers: Ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
- 2 Tech Support Volunteers: Manage audio-visual equipment and technical needs.
- 2 Documentation Volunteers: Capture the event through photos and videos.
- 2 Receptionists: Welcome and assist attendees with registration.
- 1 Floor Director: Oversee the flow of the event, coordinating with volunteers and speakers.
Please note: All volunteers must attend a virtual orientation on August 28, 2024 (Wednesday), from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM. This session will cover a brief introduction to the organization, details about the event, and the designation of specific roles. A meeting invite will be sent one day prior.
This is a one-day volunteer role, but your impact will last far beyond!
