We are looking for ‘Nature Talks Crewmates’ – composed of volunteers, visual artists, writers, and animators who could help us realize this year’s season of Nature Talks: Conservation in Action.

PROJECT BACKGROUND:

Equally important to our direct conservation actions are our efforts in education and public awareness. The PEC’s Conservation Education Program brings experiential learning online through our short documentary Nature Talks. 

In 2020, Nature Talks was launched to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic to bring the conservation mission into the online world via PEF's YouTube channel. In this year's Nature Talks: Conservation in Action, we will work on shifting the lens toward the people (researchers, educators, animal keepers, forest guards, IP partners, etc.) who have dedicated their lives to the survival of the Philippine Eagle, whose fate is undeniably linked to every one of us. 

Think of Humans of New York mixed with TED-Ed-type videos of the PEF's conservation work.

Crewmates needed:

• Scriptwriter
• Researcher
• Animator
• Video Editor
• Illustrator
• Marketing Staff

As a crewmate, we need you to:

• Help create 5-10-minute videos for PEF's YouTube channel.
• Have knowledge related to content creation, visual designing, video editing, and/or marketing.
• Be up-to-date and general knowledge of media trends and video ideas.
• Have integrity and strong good moral character.
• Be willing to attend online meetings. Physical meetings are possible for those who live near the Philippine Eagle Center, Brgy. Malagos, Baguio District, Davao City.

As a crewmate, you need to:

• Have your own laptop or desktop and stable internet connection.
• Be able to work with a team but also can work independently.

As a crewmate, you get to:

• Gain first-hand access to PEF’s volunteer experience as a virtual or on-site production crew.
• Build your portfolio as you are considered a collaborator during this project.
• Work with fellow creatives to gain experience and related skills.
• E-certificates will be provided. Physical copies are provided upon request.

NATURE TALKS CREWMATES are needed on-call! If you sign up, the team will email you the schedules for onboarding, output deadlines, and subsequent meetings. You will also be given creative liberty if it aligns with PEF’s and the Nature Talks’ branding. All volunteers registered in this dashboard will receive a centralized Google sheet with CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES via email from the PEF team. Anyone 16 years old and above can join (minors needing a parent's consent).
