Solar Hope is an NGO that provides solar and sustainable solutions to marginalized communities in the Philippines. Since 2017, they have lighted more than 2000 homes in remote and unelectrified areas in Region IV. 

One of the pressing challenges in our organization is that we are 100% volunteers. Most of us are also working in our day-to-day jobs including our volunteers who help us in creating pubmats, presentations, videos and website development.  

When we started back in 2017, we were only utilizing powerpoint as our campaigning tool and Facebook as our main social media platform. This helped us reach our circle of friends and network within our facebook reach. 

 In 2018, we started using Canva (free version) and utilize the available templates and icons in making our campaigning pubmats. This helped us a lot in generating facebook posts and post-outreach videos especially when our design volunteers are not available. 

 In 2019, our team started to brainstorm on how to be able to reach CSRs and more grant fundings. We decided to formalize our organization by registering it to SEC and developing a website as corporations usually more enticed on browsing websites than pdf versions of our campaign.  

 In 2020, we began to have traction through our projects and we were also able to subscribe to the Canva’s nonprofit program that allows us to access more templates and icons that we can utilize. However, covid-19 happened and we were forced to halt our operations and focus more on how we could improve our processes. This led our team to look on areas that we could standardize or develop templates. 

 In 2021, we were able to finally launch our website after 1-year of development and we were able to draft templates and our branding guidelines through a 4-month resource mobilization program. Grants, support and fundings are also coming in through this platforms and campaigns. However, since the 4-month resource mobilization program was done last Dec 2021, the templates and campaign programs started to lose its momentum and our design volunteers become busy again in their work. We have lots of pictures and videos from our past outreaches that we could use as “Tanglaw” stories if there are templates that we could use to just input the pictures. 

This 2022-2023, after all those journeys, we believe that we need to regain the momentum, regularly update the website and establish the design templates that we have started last year. We might also need your team’s expertise on how we could sustain this and be able to continue the regularity of our campaigns even with the unavailability of our design volunteers.

2. Establish template updating so that the Website could easily be updated every after outreach or major event. 

3. Update the Website to the latest events as last update was June 2021.
