Volunteer Event
On the occasion of the 34th Prison Awareness Sunday, the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service Foundation, Inc. (PJPS) cordially invites current and potential partners to #KwentuhangPiitan on 31 October 2021, 1:30 to 5:00 pm.
This activity is OPEN to ALL – whether you have visited the prison camps in the past or just thinking of doing so once the situation permits – who wish to experience God’s love and compassion in the lives and experiences of former Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) and their families, and understand how PJPS works in rebuilding lives, rekindling hope, and restoring the dignity of PDLs, their families, and the prison community in general.
For more info and to register, CLICK the VOLUNTEER button. A zoom registration link and details of the event will be sent to your registered email and mobile no.
ABOUT COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT (CE)
Community Engagement (CE), a program of the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service Foundation, Inc. (PJPS), was primarily established to raise the level of awareness and consciousness of the members in the free society to the realities besetting the people in the prison community.
In the past, we were able to bring students, teachers, staff, administrators, and leaders (participants) of different schools, ministries, and organizations inside the New Bilibid Prison Security Camps and let them have a first-hand glimpse of life behind bars.
Though this has not been possible since the start of the pandemic, we wish to re-create a semblance of this experience through an Online-Engagement/Interaction. It will be an opportunity to see a new perspective by actively engaging participants by providing them a chance to encounter people who have experienced life in prison, and those affected by incarceration.
