We need Volunteers TO HELP US SORT AND SEGREGATE COLLECTED PLASTIC WASTE!
 

We are a volunteer group in Pandacan, Manila engaged in taking action to protect our environment. Currently, we are working on a plastic waste recovery and recycling initiative. We have succeeded in creating a collection/sorting system and getting industry partners to recycle plastic waste into useful bricks for recycling.

For this particular volunteer opportunity, we are partnering with Social Plastic - Plastic Bank at the KAMI muna po, abang Politiko: Good Earth Day Festival 2019 on April 27 and 28!

As part of the campaign to stop the flow of destructive plastic waste into our oceans, Plastic Bank will exchange 2 kilos of plastic waste with an ecobag to help you go zero-waste when you are at the grocery.

The following will be accepted:

- laminates such as empty sachets and snack packaging
- sando bags
- plastic wrapping and packaging material
- styrofoam
- used tetra packs
- used plastic bottles
-- used paper and cartons

ONLY CLEAN AND DRY PLASTICS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Offer is available until supplies last!

On Saturday, Plastic Bank will start accepting plastic at 4pm until 9pm; Sunday 8am-9pm.

Tumatanggap po sila ng volunteers sa Sabado, 4-9pm. You may also contact them on how to partner with them for an incentives-based waste management program in your community. The Plastic Bank is willing to exchange recovered recyclables for rice and ecobags.

Liwasang Balagtas is located at the corner of Laura St. and Beata St. in Pandacan, Manila. There is a Pandacan bound jeepney terminal along Escoda St. near Taft Ave. From Makati, you can take the Paco-bound jeepneys at PRC or Kalayaan St., get off at Carreon St (locally called Imbyernes) then take a tricycle to Balagtas Plaza.

GOOD EARTH DAY FESTIVAL 2019

The two-day event will feature a fair in which, among others, civil society organizations will have environment-related exhibits in booths as well as various enterprises selling different wares -- from delicacies, health-related items, cosmetics to handicrafts and the like. 

This year the program will include cultural performances, raffle prizes, and a call for political candidates to clarify their stand on environmental issues .
