Volunteer Event
Volunteer Opportunity
Date: April 27. 2019
Number of volunteers needed: 20 volunteers/day
The Philippines experiences various natural and man-made hazards like typhoons, landslides, earthquakes, fires and volcanic eruptions throughout the year. In the past and up to the present, resources of relief goods are traditionally generated only when there is already a disaster in the community. This leaves many disaster survivors with very little or no food and other needs during the first days/weeks of a disaster. Thus, CDRC wants to be ready when the rainy days come. As the saying goes, "kapag may isinuksok, may madudukot".
What can I do?
You can be an online donation campaigner. Thru social media, you can ask for donations from your friends even before disasters come. You can solicit the following items:
1. Canned goods
2. Used clothes
3. New underwear
4. Bath soap
5. Laundry soap
6. Toothpaste
You can also solicit school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, or pens for children in poor, disaster-prone communities.
How can I be an online donation campaigner?
It’s very easy! Just attend our orientation on April 27, 1-4:30 pm at the CDRC conference room, 3rd Flr. 72-A Times St., West Triangle, Quezon City.
What do I have to bring?
Smartphone with data
Snacks to share with other volunteers (optional)
An open mind and lots of enthusiasm
What do I get for being a CDRC volunteer?
Aside from being able to help vulnerable sectors even before disasters happen, volunteers will be able to attend a Disaster Management Orientation. You can learn more and be prepared for disasters, for free!
