Feed the Tummy!

Feeding Program, 8:00 am to 9:00 am

Hi there! We invite you to join our daily feeding program for around 150 to 200 kids in the community of Helping Land, Tondo! Every morning, these kids line up as early as 6:30 am to have their breakfast before going to school. We serve hearty meals (such as champorado, rice with viand, pansit, bread, and banana) together with a dose of multivitamins. After the feeding, the kids also sing and dance their hearts out! It is definitely a unique exercise that is good for both kids and adults!

As a volunteer, you will be assigned in any of the following tasks: food preparation, set-up, serving, and cleaning up. And of course, you are encouraged to dance, play, and interact with the kids!

Nourish the Mind!

Toy Library, 9:00 am to 9:30 am

After the feeding program, we set up the toy library for the kids. More than just providing toys, the toy library provides a safe space where kids can just be kids – they can play around and interact with one another while developing important social skills. We also do some educational games and watch child-friendly movies on some days. Volunteers will help in supervising the kids while enjoying a fun playtime!

Time2Learn Program, 9:30 am to 10:30 am 

We offer fun activities, educational experiences, and homework help for children and youth in all ages. Volunteers will teach kids reading, writing, and other exercises that may be required from the kids’ homework.

Join us from Monday to Friday and show your love for the kids!

Meet-up place: Canossa Foundation - Scoulla Della Gioia, Radial Road 10, Brgy. 105, Tondo, at 7:45 am. The meet-up point is a red day care near a footbridge. Please follow the map so you won’t get lost: https://goo.gl/maps/xHeydU4tdXU2.

Once you are included to volunteer for this date, it is already given that you may attend. No need to wait for a text message for another confirmation.

Reminders: 

1. Please wait outside only and don't go in Canossa Foundation. They are not affiliated with Project Pearls.
2. Please note also that this is the Canossa along the highway and NOT Canossa Social Health Center near Villegas High School, Tondo, Manila

       3. For commute: 

         Get off at LRT-1 Tayuman Station  
         Ride Pritil Puregold jeepney   
         Get off at Puregold Pritil/Tayuman  
         Ride tricycle to Radial Road 10 Shell Gas Station  
         Take a u-turn in front of Shell Gas Station w/ overpass in front  (tricycle fare is 50 pesos only)  
         Get off at Canossa 

       4. Please text Divine at (0917) 436 5041 when you are already in front of Canossa red day care so our community volunteer will meet you. From there it will be a 5-minute walk to the Pearls courtyard.

       5. There is limited parking space in the area.

       6. Bring water so you will be hydrated throughout the program.
