Feeding and After-School Program (ASP)
Sunday is ASP day in Project Pearls! After the feeding program for around 300 kids, we conduct the After-School Program where we do academic tutorials for grade school and high school kids. ASP aims to help the kids to excel in academics and to provide them with enrichment activities outside school. This academic support for the scholars also help to curtail the drop-out rate from school.
We invite you to be an ASP volunteer in the community of Helping Land, Tondo! We serve hearty meals (such as champorado, rice with viand, pansit, bread, and banana) together with a dose of multivitamins in the feeding program. The kids also sing and dance their hearts out after the meals! It is definitely a unique exercise that is good for both kids and adults!
As a volunteer, you will be assigned in any of the following tasks: food preparation, set-up, serving, and cleaning up. You will also be a “Teacher-for-a-day” as you will be assigned in a group of kids to be tutored! Our ASP core volunteers have prepared the lesson plans and activities for the entire school year. Every week, there will be a set of lessons to be discussed per grade level. Volunteers will be given an orientation before the start of the activity. We highly encourage everyone to come on time so they will not miss the briefing.
Join us every Sunday and show your love for the kids!
Meet-up place: McDonalds LRT-1 Tayuman station at 7:00 am. Volunteers will leave no later than 7:15 am.
