Volunteer Event
As part of its mission in promoting and working towards holistic rehabilitation of incarcerated individuals and their families, the PJPSFI conducts Formation Program that would equip both the children and the parents in dealing with the difficult realities linked to the parent’s incarceration such as stigmatization by society, relational problems between parents and child, reduced family income, and possible conflict with the law.
It is in this holistic approach to education that PJPSFI hopes to break the vicious cycle of poverty, ignorance, injustice, and criminality in which they are trapped. Aside from providing scholarships (flagship program) to deserving children of inmates from grade school and high school, to college education, PJPS, in partnership with its pool of dedicated volunteers, conduct Values Formation Program (SFP) for the children and wives of inmates.
The program focus on families who are vulnerable to realities linked to a person’s incarceration. It also implements interventions as of their areas of interest and embeds financial literacy in the program components that includes lectures, workshops, mentoring, counseling and community engagement that aims to develop their behavior, skills, and attitudes.
Hence, PJPS engage in forming the hearts and minds of the inmates and their families. In this light, we wish to invite you to JOIN with us the hopes and joys of a holistic rehabilitation program and take your part to IMPACT Lives of inmates and their families.
