CITY WATCH
Keep your city hall in check! Be a City Watcher and go undercover!
Go undercover and see how well your city hall is performing!
Most of our government transactions happen in the local government units, and a lot of these transactions remain unchecked. We hear a lot of stories about bribery and under the table transactions but these anecdotes are not captured properly - nobody knows what's really going on. What is the standard of public service in LGUs? What laws are being violated? Who is performing well? And most importantly, what can we do as citizens to hold government accountable?
We focus on the very basic and everyday (and many times annoying) transactions that we go through. We want to really capture the citizen experience in our dataset so that we can demand from our leaders the service we deserve.
Help us map red tape in Metro Manila!
We are currently in the process of completing volunteer and citizen reports for all the cities of Metro Manila.
What happens to the data we collect?
1. All of the data is published online for citizens to be aware of what's happening in their LGUs.
2. All findings are reported to the Civil Service Commission (implementing agency for the Anti Red Tape Act)
3. We also use this as a basis for the reports we will generate to improve our policies.

3. Encoding of the Survey - Ideally this is done while the surveys are being conducted but because internet in the Philippines is...(another issue altogether) we advise to just capture everything with good ol' paper and pen and then encode later on when you find a more stable internet connection.
