iLinang is the fusion of the words “i” referring to the self and “linang”, a word used in the Filipino language to mean “nurture or harness someone or something” iLinang seeks to nurture a culture of informed and engaged youth citizenry equipped with knowledge resulting in a more participatory, inclusive, and innovative electoral processes in the Philippines.
This youth-led initiative is funded and supported by the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative and TechSoup Asia-Pacific.
iLinang PH seeks to nurture a culture of informed and engaged youth citizenry equipped with knowledge resulting in more participatory, inclusive, and innovative electoral processes in the Philippines. Engaging the youth citizenry in the electoral processes might eventually lead to reforms in policy-making and governance in the country.
Particularly, iLinang PH aims to:
1. Harness the youth’s ability to decide and participate through the development of a citizen-centered toolkit;
2. Strengthen the role of Filipino youth voters in achieving a more free and fair elections; and
3. Foster collaboration between and among youth organizations to amplify and represent the youth voice in the electoral processes.
