Mission statement

We envision a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights instruments.

Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million supporters, members and volunteers in over 150 countries who take injustice personally. We are campaigning for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. We undertake research, change laws, educate individuals and communities, and work for justice for those whose rights have been abused.

We are independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion, and are funded mainly by our membership and public donations.

The story of Amnesty International Philippines (AIPh) began over 30 years ago.

Over the years, we campaigned for freedom of expression and free speech, worked against the death penalty and torture; called for justice for the victims of martial law and the protection of migrant workers; lobbied for the arms trade treaty, reproductive health bill, and indigenous peoples rights; and we mobilized against  discrimination, extrajudicial executions, state  repression, and  violence against women.

AIPh is present across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao through school-based and community-based groups.
