Through our Scholarship Program, we help these families by seeking outside assistance. The incarcerated parent is somehow relieved of the burden of worrying for their family’s future and could focus more on his personal rehabilitation. In addition, it is one way of increasing the possibility of breaking the vicious cycle of violence and criminality.
With the parent behind bars, basic needs become increasingly difficult to meet especially for families with modest means. Given with their situation, medicines, and other bodily needs are not able to meet and thus, most often, worsen the aggravated situation of these families particularly the scholar’s low intellectual stimulation (lack of interest in going to school) due to lack of nutrition and among others.
In our quest of providing better access to health support for the families of our incarcerated brothers and sisters, we would like to invite you to take part in this mission by VOLUNTEERING during our Medical and Dental Mission on 28 May 2017, 9:00AM to 12:00NN at Ina ng Awa Parish Ground, New Bilibid Prison Reservation, Muntinlupa City. We are expecting around 300 to 400 attendees (scholars, parents, volunteers, doctors, and government officials) during this event.
